Life In June!

I can't believe an entire month has passed since my 'Life In May' post, but it has! I decided to stick to these monthly picture posts for a while. So here's what we've been up to this month!

06/01/2015 - Charlotte moved to a big girl bed! She started mentioning that she wanted to sleep in a big bed like mommy and daddy, so we eventually decided she was ready. The transition went very smoothly. We put her to bed at night and when she wakes up the next morning she calls for us and asks for permission to get out of bed. Yes, it is THAT easy.

06/04/2015 - Driving to work and enjoying all this prettiness riding shotgun with me. Unfortunately LV had another price increase, so I probably won't be picking up any new items anytime soon. Oh well, more time to enjoy the items I already have!

06/08/2015 - Charlotte on vacation with her friends!

06/13/2015 - Selfie time! Experimenting with a new make-up routine!

06/13/2015 - A couple of friends invited us to the Zoo. Charlotte is checking out the pinguins in this shot and she is absolutely loving it!

06/13/2015 - Not sure what this is, but it is definitely cool looking!

06/15/2015 - Charlotte proudly showing her freshly painted nails! She loves it when mommy gives her manicures and this coral color is just perfect for summer!

06/20/2015 - Ever wondered what your kid is up to when you're at work? Well apparently something like this! I recieved this picture on my IPhone while I was in a meeting, and I just couldn't help but chuckle!

06/29/2015 - Preparing for a heat wave coming our way! In just a couple of days we'll be experiencing 98 degrees out. Holy Guacamole!

Well, that was it for this month! See you later!

My Second Blogiversary!

This week marks my second blog aniversary. Yes, I have been blogging for two years now! How crazy is that? I honestly never thought I would last this long, but I 'm definitely glad I stuck to it. I love that I have documented so many lovely memories to look back on. I thought it would be fun to celebrate this little fact my sharing some favorites from the last two years!

Most popular posts
In the last two year's I've written 87 blogposts, but not all of them were published (yet). Some posts had more reads than others, but there are three that really stick out. They were all published on Blogher.com as well which helped generate the many reads they got (most reads were on the Blogher, com website). My birth story 'How to smile your way through labor' was definitely the most read post with almost 8500(!) reads. My pregnancy experience with Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome and my Mommy Uniform post both recieved about 1000 reads per blogpost. Not bad considering the fact I never really expected anyone to read them. I probably should do more posts like these three. They were all very personal. But I must admit that sharing so much of myself with the world still feels a bit akward for me. If you are interested, here are the links to these three posts:
How To Smile Your Way Trough Labor
Pregnancy and Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome
The Mommy Uniform

My favorite posts
The most read posts are also pretty much my personal favorites. But I would probably swap out The Mommy Uniform for London, baby!. Mainly because it was such an awsome experience to visit London with my family and I love to look back on that.

My favorite Pictures
Pictures are a big part of my blog. Every post contains atleast one and all the pictures on this blog were pretty much all taken by me. Let me share some of my favorites from the last two years!
Remember when baby mugging was a thing? We sure do! :)

Charlotte during our 2014 summer vacation in France. She was just released from the hospital and we were so glad o have her back on her feet!

Sun + nature = love!
Me and my beautiful little nugget! I love the background and I love that we are both wearing matching pink coats. I am a sucker for cheesy stuff like that.

I will never be a real fashion blogger, but this picture looks pretty legit!

My favorite Experiences
The most awsome blogging experience was definitely being featured on Blogher.com. I visit their website daily and I've read so many incredible articles from so many incredible bloggers on there. That I got to be a part of that was absolutely incredible!

My second favorite experience is joining a fashion linkup. Like I mentioned before, I struggle with how much of I show on this blog, but doing this definitely helped getting my out of my comfort zone and trying out new things.

And third become an avid blog reader! I'm a busy girl, so sitting down and reading an entire book is a challenge for me. But if I have a couple of minutes to myself I love to scroll through my reading list and see what my favorite bloggers have been up to.

Well, that pretty much summons up my first two years of blogging! I'm curious to see where the third year will lead me. How long have you been blogging for?

Vacation with the girls!!

I don't know about you, but I'm in a vacation state of mind! Summer vacation is still a couple of weeks away, but luckily I had a mini vacation planned with a friend of mine and our three little diva's. And oh my, going on vacation with three little girls is just crazy! It was fun, it was wild, it was hectic and it sure was hot! It's been a while since I experienced 95 degrees out, so it definitely took some getting used to again! Throw three little energy explosion in the mix to run around after and you have a trip to remember! Haha!

95 degrees obviously meant a lot of swimming! Charlotte loved this little water spray thingy. So much that she now actually loves to takes showers! She always took baths before this trip because she was terrified of the water falling down on her head. This fun little thing definitely changed that!

We stayed at a vacation park that had a lot of activities for kids, which was a lot of fun for the girls! One of our favorite activities was face painting! Charlotte chose to be a butterfly and it was such a fun experience! If you have a little girl and you have the opportunity do get her face painted, go for it! Charlotte couldn't stop pretending to fly. She BECAME the butterfly! Haha! She looked at herself in the mirror for such a long time that she eventually had to make place for the girl that got her face painted after her. It was adorable to see!

The park also had a small petting zoo which is always a lot of fun! Charlotte loves animals and she loves to be around them. Unfortunately I have pretty bad allergies, so that makes pets pretty much impossible in our household. So we love to jump at the oppertunity to cuddle us some sheep and bunnies!

We had a few wonderful days together. But at the end of each day I just had to sit down and get me a proper coffee! I...NEEDED..IT!

So how about you? Are you already on your summer vacation countdown?

Life in May!

Let's try something new this week! I don't actually get to share as much as I would like to on this little blog of mine. I have a pretty busy life and updating this blog more than just a few times a month just isn't going to happen. But I do have more than enough material. I take pictures of everything! So I thought it would be fun to look back on this past month by sharing some of the pictures I took with my IPhone. Just to walk you through what I've been up to lately. So this is what life in May looked like!

05/02/2015 - I decided to check out a new store that was just opening up in town and I picked up a new perfume there. Luckily for me it happened to be the grand opening of the store and I was one of the first 50 customers. I recieved an awsome goodie bag with my purchase, including a ton of samples, a full sized showergel and a cosmetics purse from Tommy Hilfiger. Score!

5/5/2015 - Charlotte found a very comfortable little spot on the couch to 'read' one of her favorite books. Meanwhile she was also keeping an eye on her daddy. He was outside doing some well needed work in our garden.

5/10/2015 - Obviously this post had to include some sort of nature picture. I am a nature junkie after all. I love the sun peeking through the trees here. Summer is upon us my friends!

5/15/2015 - Charlotte checking out the view from a store while visiting Amsterdam. She was kind of mesmerized by this building in particular. I believe it's called the New Church and it's on the Dam Square.

05/15/2015 - Smittened by this little purse that I picked up at the LV store in Amsterdam. I'm getting more and more comfortable visiting stores like this one. I used to think they were so intimidating and that everyone in the store would think I wasn't good enough to shop there. But I had a very nice girl helping me with my purchase, so that definitely helped!

05/22/2015 - Attending the wedding of a good friend of mine. It was held at this beautiful castle and the couple suprised the guests with a full tour of the property. This is a picture of the window in the master bedroom.
.
05/22/2015 - Another picture of the wedding location. It was such a perfect day. I am so happy for the couple and I really think they had the time of their lives that day.

05/24/2015 - After the wedding we headed to Germany. We met up with my father-in-law and his girlfriend and we visited a 'Tierpark'. In case you are wondering, that is pretty much a small zoo. It was fun because they hadn't seen Charlotte in months so it was nice for her to spend some time with her grandfather and grandmother. Charlotte is checking out a prairie dog with her dad in this picture.

05/24/2015 - Charlotte feeding an Alpaca at the 'Tierpark'. Atleast I think it's Alpaca... It could have been a funky looking llama. They were really friendly though and we weren't spit upon. So that is always a bonus.

05/29/2015 - Treating myself to a caramel latte macchiato iced coffee during my lunch break. I do work so I had to include some sort of work related picture in this post. It wasn't all fun and games this month!

So this is what the past month looked like for me! I hope you all had a lovely month as well! Take care and see you soon!

A little bit of lace!

I'm joining the creative closet linkup once again this week! Interesting because this weeks prompt is about lace, which isn't my thing...at all! I like it on others, but I just don't like how it looks on me. But I guess I can survive a little bit of lace every one in a while. I picked up a top with two lace side panels a couple of weeks ago. I decided to get it because it was on sale and I was planning on wearing it underneath a blazer, so I thought nobody would see the lace anyway. But since the top is a little longer than most of my blazers, a little lace is visible. So yeah, a little bit of lace!

I paired the top with my pink blazer by Only and my dark blue velvet pants by Esprit. The pose is a bit odd, but I had very little time taking pictures of this outfit. I wore it to a wedding last weekend, and getting out of the door on time with a toddler is a challenge on it self.

Accessories! I wore my Mini Phantom watch by Guess, my pink bow bracelet by Mulberry and a pair
of heart shaped earrings. I also carried my new mini pochette by Louis Vuitton. I attached a chain I got off Ebay to wear it as a crossbody during the day, and I took the chain off in the evening to wear it as a wristlet. Such a cute and versatile little thing!

I also orded some new dark brown heels to match my mini pochette. I figured I would just wear a pair of heels I already owned, but later realised they were all pretty beaten up already and weren't very suitable to wear to a wedding. So I rushed to get these the day before the wedding. Now it probably isn't the best idea to dance the night away in heels you didn't break in yet, but luckily I survived! :)

So how about you? Do you like to rock a little bit of lace from time to time?

Gnomes, Wild Horses & Sunshine

If you ever scrolled through this little blog of mine, this will come to no suprise to you: I love nature! I love discovering new places and just being in awe by how beautiful this little globe of us can be. I have a pretty complicated and rushed life, but this really helps me wind down and realize what's really important in life. We headed out to our favorite spot last weekend and we were accompanied by my mom and brother. A little family outing. And since I have the compulsive need to take pictures of everything, I have plenty shots of this day to share with you!

Now how cute is this? I always get so excited when I discover little things like this in the woods. It's a little step and a door carved into the bottom of a tree. It looks a little gnome house. I obviously have no idea who was responsible for this, but I think it's absolutely genius! It definitely delivered a smile on my face when I stumbled across it.

We often encouter wild horses on this trail, so I should be used to it by now. But I just can't help myself. I still find it so special to see these beautiful animals roam around in their own habitat. No fences, no owners....just nature.

My little monkey swinging among the trees and playing with her favorite uncle.  Never mind her little bum peeking out of her skirt.

How gorgeous is this? Nature as far as the eye (or in this case the camera on my Iphone) can see. I work in (and for) a city that is always crowded, busy and full of traffic. So this is really a very welcome change of scenery. Love it!

But being outside all day sure can make a gal hungry. So I indulged in the most disgustingly delicious pancake ever. It's a mandarin, cointreau, sugar, chocolate, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream pancake. It was awsome, but I don't think it justified the regret I felt afterwards. So yeah, I'll just be eating salads for the rest of the week! Haha!

Too much nature for you? Don't worry! I'm going on another city trip this weekend, so I'll be back next week with pictures of the concrete jungle... and possibly a shopping haul! :)

Mommy & Daughter OOTD - Casual Spring!

One of my favorite things about changing seasons is shopping for new seasonal pieces to add to my wardrobe. I've been wanting to make a couple of changes to my wardrobe anyway, so this was the perfect opportunity for that. My daughter is a full-blown toddler now, so my days of walking behind a stroller in high heels and a blazer are officially over. I need some casual outfits that I can wear while running after my little mischief. Those little legs can be fast I tell you!

Let's start off with Charlotte's little outfit. She is wearing a dark blue polo dress by Polo Ralph Lauren and some pink sneakers by Converse. She's grown into such a little tomgirl over the last couple of months. She loves to play soccer, run around and jump in muddy puddles. So I'm afraid we've outgrown the cute little bows and ballerina's fase... But that's okay. I think she's adorable no matter what she wears.

I'm wearing a new pair of 7/8 slim jeans by Esprit. I say 7/8, but on me they are actually a regular length, I am the size of a leprechaun apparently! And I'm also wearing a slouchy light pink longsleeve by Esprit. The fabric is very thin, so it's absolutely perfect for spring or summer. I just love shopping at Esprit, its definitely one of my favorite brands. The fit is amazing, the quality is very decent and I love how affordable their pieces are. The top was on sale and I ended up spending less than 20 bucks on it. Not bad I think!

As far as accessories go, I've kept it really basic and simple. I'm wearing my Phantom Mini Watch by Guess, rosé gold ear studs by Zinzi and a canvas spring summer 2015 tote which I got as a gift from my dear friends at Mulberry. I love how this canvas tote goes with the casual look of the entire outfit. Not something I would regularly wear, but it s great for hitting the farmers market or just as an extra shopping bag inside one of my other bags. You never know when it might come in handy.

And the sneakers...this is a really big step for me. I ve been a high heels kinda gal since I was 16, so wearing something like this will need some getting used to. The only pair of 'sneakers' I owned to this point were actually my running shoes... And not those cute pink nike's either. No, just big ol' white Asics that I got on sale last year... probably because of the fact that they are so incredibly ugly, haha! But I think these sneakers are kinda cute. They are also by Converse bu the way.

So there you have it, another mommy and daughter OOTD. It's been a while since I did one of these. So how about you? Do you have you spring collection all sorted out yet?
